The Spotlight Link / The Spotlight Link Board

The Spotlight Link is our casting breakdown service: the quickest and easiest way for casting directors to get their latest casting / audition information on to the desks of UK agencies or directly to performers.

In the year to January 2011, an average of 207 casting breakdowns were sent out each week via the Link, spanning every type of performance work: from TV to dance, film to live events, comemrcials to musicals. These contained an average of 508 individual roles every week.

Casting professionals have the choice to

• send out a casting breakdown to all agents or agents of their choice via the Spotlight Link or
• post one-role jobs to the Spotlight Link Board to all agents and all performers regardless of agency status

Casting professionals can also use the Link to send out audition scripts and other attachments, so that clients can come to auditions fully prepared - and hopefully more at ease.

How can our agency receive casting breakdowns via The Spotlight Link?

In order to receive breakdown information, your agency must have relevant clients who are current members of Spotlight. As soon as you have one or more client in Spotlight, breakdown emails will come to you automatically (with the exception of children and young performers' agencies, who need to have eight or more clients in Spotlight).

You will also be asked to agree to the terms and conditions of access.

We only hold and update information on an agent / agency if a Spotlight client is represented by them and has asked for the agency contact details to be listed as their point of contact.

How does it work?
The Spotlight Link

• Spotlight Breakdowns are only sent to agents. These comprise the majority of work going out over Spotlight
• Individual logins and passwords for all agency representatives allow agencies to set specific access rights for different users
• You can filter breakdowns by project type, budget and sender: making sure you only see the types of jobs which are relevant to you and your clients
• Receive / View breakdowns on your agent page or by email if you wish
• If a job / role is suitable for a client you can quickly and easily suggest them by putting forward their web CV using the client CV picker
• The client's CV is sent to the casting director. You can attach a personal message if you wish
• The casting director will review your clients details, including their showreel and voice-clips if available

The Spotlight Link Board

• Spotlight Link Board posts are one-role jobs and are posted to the Spotlight Link Board to all agents and all performers, regardless of agency status
• Your clients can see all of these posts. It is not possible to send job information to performers without sending to all agents

Client Access Controls

Each agency representative within an agency can decide if they want clients to be able to submit themselves for Link Board jobs by setting distinct preferences for each client so that they can

• suggest themselves directly
• nudge you so you can submit the client for a role. This is a simple online alert
• only read job information
