Unfortunately there are many hundreds of video and audio codecs in use today in the multimedia industry, and there are always new ones being developed. At Spotlight we try to ensure that we have the facilities to decode and work with as many of them as possible, however we cannot guarantee that we will be able to decode everything that is bought into us.

To save time please ensure that your material is brought to us in any one of the following formats:

Mini DV
VHS
DV PAL (AVI/MOV) (Using Microsoft DV PAL Codec)
MPEG 1, 2, 4. (*.mpg,*.mp2*.m2t, *.mp4)
Apple Intermediate codec
Apple ProRes 422

Codecs we accept

MPEG 1, MPEG 2, MPEG 4, H.264, DV PAL
