Hackney Carriage by Ella Hickson
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (2 yr. Acting / all Stage Management)
Performances take place at the The LAMDA Linbury Studio , W14 9DA
Hackney Carriage looks at the connecting moments between 15 strangers from different cultural backgrounds. They live within half a mile of each other but know nothing about one another.
The play follows the trail of one dark deed from its conception to its horrifying conclusion and looks at how social disconnection can cause social responsibility to be replaced by monetary transaction. Does ignoring something or someone make you culpable?
Hackney Carriage has been created in collaboration with students on our Two Year Acting Course as part of LAMDA’s New Writing Programme.
