September at Spotlight is ‘Presenters Month’
24th August 2010
This September we are operating a series of industry seminars/networking opportunities as well as career advice 1 on 1’s with a Spotlight expert for all our presenter members. In addition we’re offering discounts on show reel uploads and 2010 copies of Contacts throughout the month.
Our first seminar is aimed at those just starting out as a presenter. John Byrne (Career Advisor to The Stage newspaper) will be in discussion with Kathryn Wolfe, (Senior Lecturer, Media Performance University of Bedfordshire and author of 'So You Want To be a TV Presenter?') about the best ways to market yourself, gain experience and make those all important industry contacts.
Our second seminar is a Q & A session with Maggie Philbin (Inside Out, BBC Breakfast, Tomorrow's World, Swap Shop) in which she will share her wealth of presenter experience and discuss how she has developed her career over the past 30 years. It’s aimed at those looking to gain valuable insight into the career of a successful presenter or are considering rebranding yourself into a different genre or discipline.
Details of how to book tickets and take advantage of the discount offers have been emailed to all members. If you haven’t received these details or have further queries please email cindy.lemmer@spotlight.com.
If you have not renewed your membership and still wish to do so, please complete the online renewal procedure or contact Spotlight immediately. The current deadline is the 27th August.
Presenters have been advertising in Spotlight for just over seventeen years now. Current advertisers include Sarah Beeny, Bruce Forsyth, Lauren Laverne, Jimmy Carr, Natasha Kaplinsky, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Claudia Winkleman as well as a whole host of other entertainment, arts, science, sports, comedy and specialist presenters. Copies of the Spotlight Presenters directory are distributed to hundreds of independent production companies as well as the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Our website and job advertisement service The Link are used regularly by producers, directors and castings directors to source presenters.
