Creator and writer of two award-winning series for television: 'Don't Wait Up' (6 series), starring Nigel Havers & Tony Britton, and 'Executive Stress' (3 series), starring Penelope Keith.

Author of 'The Fib and Other Stories' (now on the national curriculum), and also 'The Swap and Other Stories'. Both books have been published in several countries including France, Italy, Scandinavia and the United States. 'The Swap and Other Stories' has been named by the New York City Library in the top hundred books. George also contributed to Michael Morpurgo's anthology 'War - Stories of Conflict', and his third collection of short stories 'The Trick' was published by Macmillan to critical acclaim.

George has over 25 years experience as a voiceover artiste. His voice has been heard on numerous television and radio commercials, animated cartoons and audio books.

In 2000 he received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of Bradford in recognition of his work as an actor and writer.

As a member of the bidding board, George was also involved in the successful campaign to make Bradford the first UNESCO City of Film from 2009.
