Elspeth recently returned to work after having a baby. She was lately commissioned by Theatre Gu Leòr to write and develop a new project, 'Savage Nation / Buaireas anns an Uisge', first work-shopped with Glasgow Life, and through the National Theatre of Scotland's Starter for Ten Programme. This project took her on a research trip through America's deep south in Autumn 2018, and in early 2020 she will work on the play with support from Playwrights Studio Scotland New Playwright Award. In summer 2018 she finished a 9-month Gaelic intensive on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
