Spotlight is proud to announce the launch of our brand new Ethnicity or Heritage tool. This new profile feature allows our members to select and add their ethnicity or heritage to their Spotlight profile at a greater depth than ever before.
We know how important it is for our members to be able to reflect themselves accurately and authentically through their Spotlight profile, so we’ve been working hard over the past year and engaged with a number of bodies, including Equity. This has allowed us to compile what we feel is a considerable list of over 800 heritages and ethnicities for you to really showcase you!
It will be available to Performer, Young Performer and Graduate members.
The editing section for the Ethnicity or Heritage feature
The new tool can be found in the ‘View/update my profile section’ by clicking on the edit icon beside the ‘Details’ heading. Then simply scroll down, and you’ll see there are now two different sections for you to select ethnicity and heritage in: one for if you’d like to keep this information broad, and another for if you’d like to be specific. You can also choose to use a combination of both, as well as whether to have this information displayed on your profile or not.
Starting early next year, casting professionals will also be able to search for performers based on their ethnicity or heritage, so we’d encourage everyone to add this information to their Spotlight profile to ensure you come up in these searches.
This list of ethnicities and heritages will continue to grow, so we appreciate any feedback you may have.
