The Injury Prevention Consultancy (IPC) have launched Pre-Call, a training course designed especially for Casting Directors to develop their understanding of the role that physical demand plays in the casting process and to empower them to create inclusive, transparent breakdowns.
The recently published Impact of Injury Report revealed an absence of transparency in casting breakdowns relative to the physical demand of roles, a reality which has created harmful barriers to accessibility and safe practice in production.
As a casting breakdown is the window through which a performer has sight of the nature of their potential future role, and the information within it can support performers to make informed decisions about pursuing it, they are a key piece of the injury prevention puzzle. And that’s where this training can help.
What to Expect with the Pre-Call training course:
- Part-time or intensive online training options, delivered by IPC Founder, Tome Levi.
- Learn about the fundamentals of transparent casting breakdowns.
- Learn how to identify key areas of physical demand of acting or performance roles.
- Learn how to embed the IPC casting code method during breakdown creation.
- Become an IPC Associate.
