Spotlight spaces are flexible, private rooms set up to host auditions, rehearsals, production meetings and more. These spaces are designed to hold up to fifty people and can be outfitted with a range of equipment and services to meet your unique needs. Spotlight studios are purpose built for castings, designed to allow you to cast your project as efficiently as possible.

Spotlight’s wet hire option includes the studio space along with professional equipment, a camera operator, and technical support. Our dry hire allows you to manage your production independently. The studio comes with basic filming equipment for self-recording, but you’re also free to use your own equipment if you prefer.

Self-tape casting services

We’re thrilled to be offering our casting subscribers access to remote self-tape casting services.

How does it work?

It’s simple!

We provide you with a self-tape submission link.
You pass this link on to any performers you want to see for your casting.
This link opens up a headsheet and Artist’s Declaration form that they fill out (via web or smartphone), and also prompts them to upload their self-tape files.
The upload of the forms and their footage is pinged into a folder on our end.
We take the video file and upload it to our bespoke casting website.
Once all the footage is uploaded, we’ll send you a new link to your casting website where you can both view and download all the self-tape submissions.

Actor on Tape

If you’ve been asked to record an audition or self-tape for a casting director, agent or manager, you can hire our studios at a reduced rate on an hourly basis, for high quality footage.

Working with our experienced camera operators, you can record as many takes as you like within the hour, review the footage, and choose clips to be uploaded to a casting page. You’ll then receive an email with a link to view and download high-res MPEG-4 video files. Learn more here.

Standby Studio Dry Hire for Performers

Spotlight offers a Standby Dry Hire rate for performers when booked on the day, subject to availability, providing a quiet place to run lines or do a quick Zoom call.

Bookings for a studio hire before 12pm can be made from 4:00-6pm on the previous day.

Bookings for studios after 12pm can be booked on the day from 9:30am. Enquiries will be dealt with on a first come first serve basis.
