‘One Battle After Another’, ‘I Swear’, Robert Aramayo and Jessie Buckley among big winners of the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2026.
The winners of the 79th EE BAFTA Film Awards have been announced at a ceremony hosted by Alan Cumming, which took place at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall.
The frontrunner of the night was Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, which had six impressive wins. These included the awards for Best Film, Supporting Actor, Director and Adapted Screenplay.
However, the Leading Actress and Actor awards evaded the main cast, going to Hamnet’s Jessie Buckley and I Swear’s Robert Aramayo – both of who are Spotlight members. Robert Aramayo was also awarded the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award, leading to a successful night for the proud Hull-born actor.
I Swear, Sinners, and Frankenstein also performed well, each receiving three awards. Other highlights include British casting director Lauren Evans winning the Casting award for her excellent work on I Swear, and Spotlight member Wunmi Mosaku being presented with the Supporting Actress award for the role of ‘Annie’ in Sinners.
