Spotlight Conference: How to Confidently Address Your Access Requirements
Tuesday, 14th October 2025, 1-2pm BST

The fear of disclosing access requirements and having an opportunity taken away is a very real and valid concern for many performers. In this session, we’ll cover how agents should approach these conversations with new and existing clients, how casting directors approach these conversations during the casting process, members’ worries in regards to sharing Access Requirements, and how the industry can help to continue this conversation and make everyone feel empowered.

Spotlight Conference: The Ethics of Self-Taping
Thursday, 16th October 2025, 6-7pm BST

Join us for an illuminating discussion on the ethics of self-taping with Lucinda Syson, Rory Okey, Ross Grant, Suraj Shah and Zita Zutic Konak. We’ll discuss the ‘technological divide’, the lack of feedback and direction from casting directors, unrealistic demands on getting the self-tape produced and more.

Thursday, 23rd October 2025, 6-8pm BST

‘General Northern’ accent is a popular (if not confusing) casting requirement. In this session, acclaimed voice actor Nina Zendejas helps us explore what ‘General Northern’ really means on a brief.

Spotlight Success Session: Brand Masterclass with Charlotte Thornton
Thursday, 6th November 2025, 6-7:30pm GMT

Whether you are seeking an agent or trying to get more auditions, knowing your brand is an essential part of the process. In this workshop, mindset and marketing coach, Charlotte Thornton, will teach you what brand is and how you can succeed, the tools to discover your brand, and how to communicate your brand powerfully through your headshots, reels and resume for greater success.

Spotlight Success Session: Regain Your Confidence and Power with EFT
Tuesday, 11th November 2025, 6-7:30pm GMT

During this workshop, certified EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) practitioner, actress and writer, Samantha Schnitzler, will begin with a short introduction to EFT and how it works. She will then guide participants through a series of short, individual EFT sessions and respond to questions and themes that participants bring forward.

As we look to expand how we offer our advice sessions, we want to reach as many members as possible but still keep sessions familiar and personal. These sessions will be run by Customer Success Manager, Mel Brown, and will not be recorded, they are a safe space for an open discussion.

About Mel Brown:

Mel studied Drama at Loughborough University, before heading into the industry and interning at a number of places including Hubbard casting, the National Student Drama Festival and a number of performer agencies. She then took up a full time job as a young performer agents assistant at YAT Management, where she remained for five years and worked her way up to being a Junior Agent. In 2016 she moved to Spotlight and started on the membership support team as Membership Coordinator and then moved to Senior Performer Executive. Mel then became part of a new team where she undertakes the role of Customer Success Manager for performers at Spotlight. Mel specialises with members who may be feeling a little stuck in their career and wants some to give an objective view on steps they can do to enhance their Spotlight profile and gain more traction from Industry professionals.

The Wellbeing Series (18yrs +)

Our well-being programme is designed to empower and support you to navigate the mental challenges of the acting profession and the uncertain times that we’re living through. These events are currently all online and run via Zoom.

Book your own private studio space for a reduced rate on our specially-selected days to film your showreels, self-tapes, monologues or duologues with friends. Each studio will come with camera equipment, lighting and a skilled camera operator to take care of all the technical aspects.
