‘The Responder’ and ‘This is Going to Hurt’ lead the nominations at this year’s TV BAFTA Awards

The nominations for the annual TV BAFTA Awards have been announced and with a huge variety of categories, the television drama genre reigns supreme with the most nominations.

The BAFTA Television Awards will take place on Saturday 14 May 2023 and will be televised on BBC One. Although the host hasn’t been announced yet, the nominations are here and BBC’s The Responder and This Is Going To Hurt lead the pack with six nominations apiece, closely followed by The EnglishThe Crown, and Slow Horses with five nominations each.

The BAFTA Awards also celebrate news and live events coverage where the 2022 Women’s European Cup, The Funeral of HM The Queen and BBC News at Ten: Russia Invades Ukraine all picked up nominations.

In addition, the performance categories are brimming with exciting talent. Spotlight members among the nominees include Lee Mack, Ben Whishaw, Cillian Murphy, Imelda Staunton, Adeel Akhtar, Jack Lowden, Fiona Shaw and Anne-Marie Duff among many others.

The nominees for Scripted Casting include Spotlight members and casting directors Nina Gold, Lucy Amos, Martin Ware, Julie Harkin, and Des Hamilton.
