From Beatles biopics to the second seasons of ‘Supacell’ and ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, here are the productions currently filming in February.

A brand new year means a brand new slate of exciting new projects currently filming in the UK and Ireland. This year, we’re set to see a huge number of blockbusters fill the cinemas, from Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey to Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday

But before we get swept up in new releases, let’s look at the projects that are just starting their journey in February 2026.

‘The Beatles – a Four-Film Cinematic Event’

Casting by Nina Gold, CDG.

Filmmaker Sam Mendes takes on the gargantuan task of four back-to-back biopics following the lives, careers and struggles of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr in the currently Untitled Beatles biopics.

Most details about this upcoming cinematic event has been kept under wraps, but we do know that the famous four will be played by Paul Mescal as ‘McCartney’, Harris Dickinson as ‘Lennon’, and Spotlight members Joseph Quinn as ‘Harrison’ and Barry Keoghan as ‘Starr’. Other names in this star-studded cast include Saoirse Ronan, Spotlight member Aimee Lou Wood and James Norton.

The films are planned to be released across four consecutive weeks in cinemas in April 2028. Production on this enormous project has started this month filming in both Liverpool and London.

‘Supacell (Season 2)’

Casting by Isabella Odoffin, CDG.

After the huge success of the first season, Netflix’s original series Supacell is back. Created by British rapper and filmmaker Andrew Onwubolu, also known by his stage name Rapman, Supacell tells the story of a group of regular people from South London as they discover they have special abilities.

Season 2 is currently filming in London, with returning cast members from Season 1, including Tosin Cole, Adeleyo Adedeyo, Nadine Miles, Spotlight member Josh Tedeku and Eric Kofi-Abrefa.

Whilst no release date is in place yet, it is expected that Season 2 of Supacell will drop on Netflix towards the end of 2026.

‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (Season 2)’

Casting by Lucy Bevan, CDG and Emily Brockman, CDG.

The first season of the highly anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off has just begun airing on Sky this month, and as fans enjoy returning to Westeros, production has already begun on its second season.

Set a century before the events of Game of Thrones, this exciting new series follows a brave knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his intriguing side-kick, Egg, as they face a series of dangerous and entertaining events throughout their journey across the Targaryen-ruled land.

Season 2 is currently filming in Belfast Studios in Northern Ireland, and although the returning cast has not yet been announced, we can likely expect Peter Claffey and Spotlight member Dexter Ansell Sol to reprise their leading roles of ‘Ser Duncan’ and ‘Egg’.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (Season 1) is releasing weekly on Sky Atlantic via HBO from Monday 19 January. Season 2 is expected to be released in 2027.

‘Dastaar’

Casting by Claire Bleasdale, CDG.

Tarsem Jassar leads the cast of this upcoming Punjabi film set in 1980’s Hull. Jassar plays a Sikh man living in Northern England who faces everyday racism and throughout the film goes on a journey of self discovery whilst celebrating his faith and identity.

Directed by Amar Hundal, whose previous work includes Warning 2 (2024) and Bibi Rajni (2024), Dastaar is set to be a fusion of Indian and British cultures, whilst focusing on controversial topics.

Dastaar is currently filming in Hull and various locations around the North East of the UK and is scheduled for release in July 2026.

‘Sticks & Stones’

Casting by Claudia Blunt, CDG.

Directed by up-and-coming British filmmaker Lily Howkins, Sticks & Stones is the first feature length film to come from London-based film production company Disauthority. Spotlight member Freya Hannan-Mills will lead the cast, supported by Spotlight members Anna Burnett, Tristan Sturrock and Louis Martin.

Sticks & Stones tells the tale of a young teenage girl who attempts to protect her innocence when accused of a brutal crime. Described as a claustrophobic thriller/horror film which features supernatural themes, it will be set against a period backdrop of late 1990s London.

This exciting, home-grown production is currently filming in Croydon, South London, and is expected to release in late 2026.

‘Override’

Casting by Georgia Simpson, CDG.

The exciting new sci-fi survival thriller, Override, is currently filming in Belfast, starring Frank Grillo and Oscar nominee and Spotlight member Maria Bakalova. Director Jordan Downey, whose previous work includes the horror film V/H/S Beyond (2024) and The Head Hunter (2018), brings this pulse-pounding tale of survival to the big screen.

When a soldier from the future (Bakalova) finds herself against the clock and fighting for survival, she turns to a synthetic angel (Grillo) for help.
