The Spotlight Prize 2025 Finalist

What made you want to be an actor?
There were many things that drew me to becoming an actor. When I was very young, I was always captivated by actors, such as Johnny Depp, who became characters so wildly different from themselves, and I found joy in trying to transform myself. As I’ve grown up, I’ve developed a passion for observing life and trying to imitate or reflect on it through my work. Additionally, it always fascinates me how much we can learn about ourselves when approaching new characters.
Who in the industry would you like to work with?
I hugely admire the virtuosity and discipline of Complicité, so to work with them would be a dream of mine and a brilliant opportunity to learn and develop further.
I would also love the opportunity to work with the BBC, as they create some of my favourite work, both in comedy and drama. Additionally, I would love to collaborate with new writers and concepts, as the BBC encourages.
What films, shows or books are currently inspiring you?
I recently read Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano, which perfectly depicted the beautiful but complex relationships between family. She managed to describe the indescribable connections we feel in life and questioned what it is that ties us together. It’s an idea that is so subtle and complex that I feel it would be hard to capture on stage and screen, but it would be so beautiful to watch if we could.
What would be your dream role?
My dream role for screen would be ‘Nic Sheff’ from Beautiful Boy by Luke Davies and Van Groeningen. My dream role for stage would be ‘Andrei’ from Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov.
