What made you want to be an actor?

I never was really academic at school growing up, and I would misbehave and get into trouble just to make everyone like me and laugh. I desperately needed a hobby, but was terrible at football. My mum was studying psychology at the time, and had a friend who was starting acting classes. She forced me to attend the classes for a month. Initially, I hated it because I’d never been exposed to something so creative before. Then it grew on me, and now I can’t think what my life would be like without it. Thanks mum!

What kind of actor do you aspire to be?

I love gritty stuff. I love plays that I can connect to and that allow me to dive into characters and their relationships. I’d love to be an actor that works on a lot of contemporary pieces, where I can tackle issues in modern society.

What films, shows or books are currently inspiring you?

Currently, I’m working on a play for my final show at drama school called Anatomy of a Suicide by Alice Birch. It’s such a brilliant piece with a very interesting form that tackles heavy issues throughout. It’s an inherently difficult play to star in, but the opportunity to tackle such a difficult piece is particularly inspiring for me as an actor stepping into the industry.

What would be your dream role?

I would love to be a part of something like Peaky Blinders or something within the Game of Thrones world. I’ve loved these shows since they aired, and to be a part of something like that would be absolutely amazing. Working on realistic projects like Adolescence would also be really amazing.
