Spotlight Summer School
This year we will be running our very first Spotlight Summer Schools! During Saturdays in July/August, we will host a variety of workshops for our young performer members, in our very own Rooms and Studios.
In this session, you will have the chance to work with Kidztalk agent and voice director Jacky Davis, learning basic techniques for voice-over work, and how to transfer stage and screen skills to the mic. Working with scripts, participants will have the chance to work on a mix of commercials, corporate and animations.
In this three hour workshop Eric Mallett, an Associate Member of Complicite, will lead participants through an exploration of some of the core skills a Lecoq training aims to instil in the performer and look at some of the techniques which Complicite use to devise new material.
Auditioning for Drama School can be a daunting and tricky process. During this workshop, you will have the chance to work with Open Door founder David Mumeni on pre-prepared monologues and receive feedback and guidance for your chosen piece. De-mystifying the drama school audition process and how you can best prepare and feel confident when you are in the room.
Whether they frequently attend youth theatre or have never tried it before, this workshop is for your child. We'll be exploring and playing in lots of different and exciting worlds introducing your child to acting, play and working with new people.
We'll do lots of playing, laughing and having fun whilst you can grab a coffee or have a free few hours. There will be an opportunity to see a sharing of the work in the last 15minutes of the session.
This dynamic workshop focuses on the development of vocal technique, particularly the skill of acting through song.
Following a full vocal warm-up in the style of a professional West End rehearsal, there will be a detailed teaching of the song. Participants then look at the context of the song and the journey of the characters singing. The group rehearse the piece and work towards a sharing at the end of the session.
Mainly experienced at treading the boards? Or just need a refresh on how to make the best impact when acting on camera? Casting director Emma Sylvester will be on hand to give you feedback to improve your performance in front of the camera.
