Thank you for all of the feedback you’ve given us to let us know that you would appreciate a monthly direct debit payment method. We know that it would be a help to many members to be able to spread the cost of your Spotlight membership throughout the year.

As you know, to make things show-ready requires a lot of work behind the scenes – and making changes to payment systems is no different! In recent months we have made a number of improvements to your membership model:

  • You’re now able to pay by annual direct debit, to make it more simple to renew your membership each year. We still get in touch with you before your payment is due, but then renewal happens automatically, unless you tell us otherwise.
  • New memberships are now annual (literally 365 days), and new members are able to join at any time of the year at the same price (no more prorated bills, hurrah!), and membership will renew on the same day each year. This has also laid the foundation for us to move to more flexible payment options in the future.
  • New innovations have been launched to make it easier for casting professionals to find you, to find out more about what they are, you can read more here.

As some of you have mentioned, in the past we have offered monthly standing orders as a payment method on an exceptional, case-by-case basis. These ad hoc arrangements have been managed manually by our finance team, but this is not sustainable moving forwards and as our membership continues to grow.

It’s important to us to be fair to all of our members and for everyone to access flexible payment options, so the next step is to introduce new systems that will manage these for us. These will include the option for you to spread payments throughout the year. We are aiming to launch a new flexible payment system in early 2017. Thanks for being so patient while we work hard behind the scenes to make this happen.
