‘Sinners’, ‘The Studio’, ‘The Pitt’, Michael B. Jordan and Jessie Buckley win big at the 32nd annual Actor Awards.
The winners of the 32nd annual Actor Awards have now been revealed. Previously known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the awards celebrate the finest film and television performances of the past year, as chosen by the members of SAG-AFTRA. Broadcast live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, the evening was anchored by the return of Kristen Bell, who stepped into the hosting role for the third time with her signature wit.
The Apple TV+ Hollywood satire The Studio emerged as the night’s most decorated production, sweeping the comedy categories. The series took home Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, while co-creator Seth Rogen won for Male Actor in a Comedy. HBO Max’s series The Pitt also enjoyed a double victory, winning both the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series award and the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for Noah Wyle.
In the film categories, Ryan Coogler’s vampire thriller Sinners took the top prize for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Its star, Michael B. Jordan, also triumphed in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role category for his dual performance as twins ‘Stack’ and ‘Smoke’.
Other highlights include Spotlight member Jessie Buckley winning Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her role in Hamnet, and Spotlight member Owen Cooper taking home the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series award for Adolescence.
