From Robert Eggers’ latest horror to seasons of hits like ‘Slow Horses’, here are the productions currently filming across the UK and Ireland this December.

As the festive season fast approaches, production teams up and down the country are adapting to the colder, damper weather and continuing to create exciting new projects for all of us to look forward to over the next year and beyond. 

From gripping psychological thrillers and chilling gothic horror period pieces to high-octane action sequels and compelling dark comedies, here is a look at the films and television shows currently filming in the UK and Ireland in December:

‘Everybody Wants to F*** Me’

Jonathan Schey directs this exciting new dark comedy thriller set in the modern day world of dating. 

Taron Egerton leads the cast and is joined by Spotlight members Jessica Henwick and BAFTA award winner Mia McKenna-Bruce. The plot is currently under wraps, but filming started in London at the start of November and is likely to go on to the end of the year. 

Everybody Wants to F*** Me is produced by Film4 and StudioCanal and is likely to release at the end of 2026, although no date has been announced yet.

‘Road House 2’

Hollywood superstar Jake Gyllenhaal returns to lead the sequel to the 2024 hit film, Road House – a remake of the 80s classic that starred Patrick Swayze. 

After he retires from the demanding life of a UFC fighter, Dalton (Gyllenhaal) takes up a job as a bouncer at a nightclub in the Florida Keys, only for things to take a turn. He finds himself wrapped up with a gang and violence ensues. 

The plot for the second installment is unknown at this time, but will see Ilya Naishuller in the director’s chair as stars like Dave Bautista, Peter Sarsgaard and Leila George join the cast. 

Currently filming in various locations around the UK before moving on to Malta and finishing up the shoot in the US, Road House 2 is expected to release in 2027.

‘Wuthering Heights – The House of the Damned’

The first in a series of horror adaptations from the works of Jane Austen and the Bronte sisters, Wuthering Heights: The House of the Damned leads the pack of the ‘gowns and gore’ series, coming from LA-based production company ScaryContent, and will be followed by Pride And Prejudice: Serial Killers.

The film tells the story of a guest at the haunted Wuthering Heights manor, where the ghost of Catherine and Heathcliffe roam the halls. The visitor must escape the horrors of the ancient building in a bid to protect his own life.

Production started in Scotland last month on this gothic horror period drama, and will continue to the end of the year. The cast includes Spotlight members Elle O’Hara, Sky Cheema and Ross Townsend-Green. The film is scheduled to release in the first half of 2026.

‘Slow Horses (Season 7 & 8)’

The critically-acclaimed AppleTV police drama returns for its sixth season later next year. In the meantime, the team are working hard in the background on the following two seasons. 

Currently filming in London, Slow Horses follows a team of shamed police detectives and their cynical leader, Jackson Lamb, played by award-winning actor Gary Oldman. 

The cast also consists of other familiar faces like Spotlight members Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christopher Chung.

‘Werwulf’

The visionary director of hit films such as Nosferatu (2024), The Lighthouse (2019) and The VVitch (2015), Robert Eggers, brings his team to the English shores. 

Set in winter in medieval Britain, the production of Werwulf takes shape on the Dartmoor coast as the folklore tale of a mysterious beast roaming the eerie countryside is brought to life. 

This exciting new horror film will star Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, Aaron Taylor Johnson and Spotlight member Ralph Ineson. 

Werwulf is scheduled to release in cinemas on Christmas Day 2026.

‘Daughter of Eden’

Directed by Fateme Ahmadi, this psychological thriller follows a British-Iraqi nurse as she delves into the mystery of her parents’ fate in Iraq.

Developed with the BFI and BBC Film, its compelling cast includes Spotlight members Yasmin Al-Khudhairi and Amir El-Masry, plus Hiam Abbass and Lindsay Duncan.

Filming for Daughter of Eden is currently taking place in Dublin, Ireland.

 

Here are some other productions that are coming to the end of their shooting dates: 

  • The Beekeeper 2 – The sequel to the popular Jason Statham action drama, The Beekeeper (2024), currently filming in Shepperton Studios.

  • Clayface – The Batman supervillain origin story is wrapping its shoot in Liverpool soon. Starring Spotlight members Tom Rhys Harries and Naomi Ackie.

  • Ted Lasso (Series 4) – Filming for the fourth season of the popular AppleTV show is coming to an end in Richmond, London. Starring Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, and Spotlight members Brett Goldstein and Juno Temple.

  • Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew – The exciting new project from Greta Gerwig is still shooting in London and Shepperton Studios. Expected to release for Netflix, Christmas 2026.
