The latest films and TV shows currently shooting across the UK and Ireland in October, including Anxious People and a new Netflix series from Black Mirror’s Charlie Brooker.
Autumn is finally here, and with it comes the prime season for television and film. Strictly Come Dancing is back on the dancefloor, the bakers are cooking up a storm in The Great British Bake Off tent and the cinemas are bursting with exciting big releases.
While we’re watching all these brilliant productions, we’re also looking forward to the following upcoming productions that are filming up and down the United Kingdom and Ireland right now.
‘War’
Casting by Amy Hubbard, CDG.
Writer and series creator of Hijack and Lupin, George Kay, returns to the small screen with his tense new legal thriller, which tells the dramatic story of two rival law firms as they battle over a high-stakes divorce case.
Star of The Wire and Downton Abbey, Dominic West, leads the cast, which also includes the talents of Sienna Miller and Spotlight members Nina Sosanya and Pip Torrens.
War is currently filming at the OMA X Film Studios in Enfield, East London, for the next couple of months and is expected to release in early 2026 for Sky and HBO.
‘The Lost Children of Tuam’

The Lost Children of Tuam is an upcoming film from director Frank Berry. It tells the horrific true story of the nearly 800 children who died at the Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home in Tuam, Ireland, between 1925 and 1961.
Star of stage and screen and Spotlight member Monica Dolan plays ‘Catherine Corless’, the local historian who uncovers the scandal. Dolan is joined by Spotlight members Ian McElhinney, Tara Breathnach and Elaine O’Dwyer in this powerful and emotional film.
Currently filming in various locations around Ireland from September onwards, The Lost Children of Tuam doesn’t currently have a release date.
‘Grown Ups’
Casting by Louise Kiely, CDG and Thyrza Ging, CDG.
Based on the best-selling novel by Marian Keyes, Grown Ups tells the tale of the Casey family and how their once happy family life is torn apart by the reveal of financial issues, lies and infidelity.
The series, which is currently filming in and around Dublin for the next few months, stars Spotlight member Adrian Dunbar as ‘Canice’ and Spotlight member Robert Sheehan as ‘Liam’, who must navigate a turbulent time for the family when Spotlight member Aisling Bea’s ‘Cara’ suffers a head trauma and reveals a number of unwanted truths about the family.
Grown Ups is slated for a 2026 release on Netflix.
‘Stuffed’
Casting by Kahleen Crawford, CDG, CSA.
In a twisted turn of events, taxidermist Araminta sets out to preserve a human specimen, and a fortuitous love story unfolds when Bernie, a lonely man, volunteers for the experiment.
This fantastical thriller-musical comes from first-time director/writer Theo Rhys and is yet to be picked up by a distributor.
Stuffed will star Spotlight members Jodie Comer and Harry Melling. Filming is already underway in South Wales and will continue to shoot for the next month.
‘Untitled Charlie Brooker project’

Creator of Black Mirror, Charlie Brooker, is back with a new detective thriller. Set in London, the lead character moves south from the dismal Northern countryside town ‘Bleakford’. The plot centres around a brutal serial killer case as the detective in question tries to stop the murderer at large.
Most details of the production remain under wraps. However, we do know that the cast comprises Lena Headey and Spotlight members Georgina Campbell and Paddy Considine. It’s currently shooting in various locations around the UK.
This exciting new four-part drama for Netflix doesn’t currently have a release date.
‘Anxious People’
Casting by Kate Dowd, CDG.
Angelina Jolie and Spotlight member Aimee Lou Wood lead the cast of this hostage drama based on the novel by Fredrik Backman. Set on the day before Christmas Eve, Anxious People follows Grace (Wood) as she unintentionally holds a group of innocent strangers hostage at an open house event. Zara (Jolie), who didn’t want to be at the open house in the first place, finds herself amongst the hostages, and as conversation rolls in the group, secrets are revealed and chaos ensues.
Alongside Jolie and Wood are Carol Kane, Jason Segal, Stephanie Allynne and Spotlight members Joanna Scanlan, Lennie James and Jessica Gunning..
Anxious People is currently filming at Pinewood Studios for Black Bear Pictures.
‘Deadpoint’
Casting by Hannah Marie Williams, CDG.
Spotlight member and It’s a Sin star Callum Scott Howells leads the cast of this exciting new five-part drama from Clerkenwell Films and Channel 4, which explores the Welsh wilderness. It follows a tight-knit group of mountaineers who find themselves tangled up with a far-right group plotting against their beloved mountains.
Howells is joined by Spotlight members Sam Keeley, John Bradley, Gary Lewis, Gwilym Lee and Michael Socha.
Deadpoint will be directed by The Lazarus Project showrunner Marco Kreuzpaintner and filming has already begun in various locations around Wales. A release date is yet to be announced.

- Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew – The production of the on-screen adaptation of the first of C.S. Lewis’ novels is still going strong in London, starring Spotlight members Carey Mulligan and Daniel Craig.

- Victorian Psycho – Spotlight member Jason Isaacs and Thomasin McKenzie lead the cast of this Gothic horror which is coming to the end of its shoot in Ireland.
