Take a look at some of the films and TV shows currently being filmed in the UK and Ireland, including ‘Rivals’ (Season 2), ‘Vision Quest’ and Bella Ramsey’s new film.

From Joan Collins’ return to screen as ‘Wallis Simpson’ to Steve Coogan’s new Netflix drama, we look at some of the exciting productions filming around the UK and Ireland in June.

‘Sunny Dancer’

Casting by Lucy Allen and Daniel Edwards.

Spotlight member Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us, Game of Thrones) leads the cast in this heartfelt drama from director George Jacques.

As she deals with the struggles and reality of living with cancer, 17-year-old ‘Ivy’ (Ramsey) is signed up to ‘chemo camp’ by her parents. In a summer she will never forget, Ivy finds herself with an unlikely group of new friends.

This coming-of-age comedy also stars Neil Patrick Harris, James Norton and Spotlight member Jessica Gunning.

Sunny Dancer is currently filming in Scotland and is expected to release next year.

‘The Bitter End’

Casting by Lainy Lipson.

Returning to the screen in her latest film, Spotlight member Dame Joan Collins will be portraying the twilight years of ‘Wallis Simpson’ – the American socialite whose scandalous relationship with Edward VIII caused endless controversy.

Italian actress Isabella Rossellini stars alongside Collins in this historic biopic, directed by Harry Potter director Mike Newell, which is currently filming in London for the next few months.

‘Frank & Louis’

Casting by Heather Basten CDG.

Currently filming in various locations around the UK, this exciting new drama is set in a high security prison. Spotlight member Kingsley Ben-Adir (Bob Marley: One Love, Peaky Blinders) stars as an inmate who attempts to find a new path by taking on a job with fellow prisoners that suffer from memory loss.

Frank & Louis is directed by Petra Volpe and also stars Rob Morgan and Spotlight members Indira Varma and Rosalind Eleazar. It’s currently scheduled to release in 2026.

‘Everyone Digs Bill Evans’

Everyone Digs Bill Evans stars Anders Danielsen Lie (The Worst Person in the World, Mothers Instinct) as ‘Bill Evans’, the legendary jazz pianist. The film tells the story of the release of Evans’ two iconic albums following the death of his friend and bandmate ‘Scott LaFaro’. Lie is joined in the cast by Bill Pullman and Laurie Metcalf.

Everyone Digs Bill Evans is directed by Grant Gee and is currently filming in Cork, Ireland. It’s expected to be released in 2026.

‘Rivals (Season 2)’

Casting by Kelly Valentine Hendry.

The highly-anticipated second season of Disney+’s Rivals is currently filming in Bristol and the Cotswolds. David Tennant, Aiden Turner, and Spotlight members Danny Dyer, Bella Maclean and Alex Hassell (among many others) return to the 1980s in this brilliantly exciting and funny drama based on the 1988 Jilly Cooper novel of the same name.

No release date is confirmed yet, but we’re expecting it to hit the screens in late 2025/early 2026.

‘Vision Quest’

Casting by Sarah Finn.

Following on from the Disney+ hit show, WandaVision, Vision Quest follows ‘Vision’ (played by Paul Bettany) as he tries to regain his memory and human abilities after the traumatic events which led to him losing his family.

Joining Bettany in the Marvel Studios miniseries is James Spader, returning to voice the villainous AI droid, ‘Ultron’, accompanied, if rumours are to be confirmed, by Spotlight member T’Nia Miller as his wife ‘Jocasta’.

Currently shooting at Pinewood Studios, Vision Quest is expected to release on Disney+ in 2026.
