Extra Cover Pack Members Business Travel Cover
Business Travel Cover is only applicable to Spotlight members who have purchased the Extra Cover Pack and reside in the UK, Channel islands, and Isle of Man whilst travelling within Europe for reasons related to performance and entertainment – auditions, on-location meetings, production, performance, etc.
Introduction
All eligible Spotlight members who have purchased Extra Cover Pack are insured whilst travelling in Europe in connection with your Spotlight (performing) related occupation. The maximum trip duration is 30 days.
The following is a Summary of Cover and you should refer to the policy and schedule for the full details of policy terms and conditions.
Demands and needs
This policy meets the demands and needs of Spotlight members who have purchased the Extra Cover Pack requiring protection against certain medical emergencies and losses whilst traveling in Europe in connection with your performing related occupation.

Eligibility
All subscription paying Spotlight members who have purchased the Extra Cover Pack and are under 75 yrs, permanently residing in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands are covered.
Duration of insurance
The policy runs for 12 months from 4th September and is annually renewable by Spotlight. Spotlight members who have purchased the Extra Cover Pack.
Aviva European Business Travel Insurance – Insured Benefits
- Medical and Emergency Travel Expenses including Repatriation (cover does not apply in the UK) – £5,000,000
- Personal Belongings – £1,500
- Personal Belongings Delay – £50 after for the first 4 hours, £50 for each complete 4 hours thereafter up to a maximum of £500
- Money – £1,000, Cash Limit £200
- Cancellation, Curtailment or Change of Itinerary – £2,500
- Missed Departure – Up to £500
- Travel Delay – £50 after for the first 4 hours, £50 for each complete 4 hours thereafter up to a maximum of £500

Cover
If whilst on a European journey (up to 30 days in duration) with a destination outside the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man which is in connection with your Spotlight/performing related occupation, insurers will pay the benefits show below following a loss covered by that section.
Any period of holiday which is ancillary to your business trip is also covered provided it falls within the 30 days maximum duration.
Medical/ Emergency Travel Expenses
What is insured?
- Up to £5,000,000 for emergency treatment including rescue services and hospital expenses following injury or illness.
- Costs of transport and accommodation for you or any relative or friend who must remain with you.
- On medical advice, your repatriation home.
- Costs of emergency assistance transporting you to the nearest hospital.
- Hospital in-patient medical charges incurred within three months immediately following your return home up to a maximum of £50,000.
- £50 per day for each day of continuous unconsciousness up to a maximum of 365 days.
- £10,000 for the reasonable costs incurred of a funeral outside the United.
- £50 for each day in a hospital outside the UK up to a year.
- Up to £25,000 for search and rescue
Medical/ Emergency Travel Expenses
What is not insured? – Main exclusions
- Loss caused by any hazardous activity performed as a stunt including but not restricted to martial arts, boxing, fighting, wrestling, trampolining, gymnastics, acrobatics, aerial activities including flying, parachuting, paragliding, driving or riding any mechanical vehicle, horse riding, rock climbing, swimming, sub aqua activities and any activity involving the use of fire.
- Medical expenses incurred when the specific purpose of the journey is for you to receive medical treatment or advice;
- MedicaI expenses arising from an Illness which you are aware of and in respect of which you are travelling against medical advice or where a terminaI prognosis has been given;
- MedicaI expenses incurred whilst on an Insured Journey within the UK;
- Any expenses incurred 12 months after the date the need for treatment first arises.
What are the Conditions?
As soon as possible, you must contact the specialist emergency assistance provider if you require in-patient hospital treatment, repatriation or search and rescue.

You will be responsible for the costs of specialist emergency assistance given to any person who is not a Spotlight member who has purchased the Extra Cover Pack and therefore not covered by this policy.
Personal Belongings Cover
What is insured?
- Up to £1,500 if you suffer loss or damage to Personal Belongings.
- Up to £500 for necessary purchases if your Personal Belongings are delayed for more than 4 hours.
- Up to £500 for lost keys

What is not insured? – Main exclusions
- breakage of articles of a brittle nature, loss or damage caused by moth or vermin or gradual deterioration, atmospheric or climatic conditions, wear and tear, mechanical or electrical failure or breakdown; any process of cleaning, dying, restoring, repairing or alteration;
- loss which is not reported to the local police or within 24 hours of its discovery and a written report obtained (in the case of an airline you will need to obtain a property irregularity report);
- theft or attempted theft from any unattended vehicle unless kept out of sight in a locked boot or compartment
- loss of or damage to sports equipment (including winter sports equipment) while in use;
- loss of Business Equipment
Money Cover
What is insured?
- Up to £1,000 with a Maximum Cash Limit of £200.
- The policy also covers Fraudulent use of credits cards and loss, damage or theft of travel documents.
Money Cover
What is not insured? – Main exclusions
- Any loss which is not reported to the locaI police or appropriate authorities within 24 hours of its discovery and a written report obtained (in the case of an airline the Insured Person will need to obtain a property irregularity report);
- any loss or theft of a credit card, charge card or cash card which results in fraudulent use unless you have complied with all the terms and conditions under which the card was issued;
- theft or attempted theft of Money from any unattended vehicle unless kept out of sight in a locked boot which is separate from the passenger compartment or locked compartment.
Cancellation, Curtailment, Change of Itinerary, Travel Delay, Missed Departure.
What is insured?
- Up to £2,500 If you are forced to cancel an Insured Journey as result of any cause outside your control.
- Up to £2,500 If following departure you are forced to alter pre-booked travel arrangements in connection with an Insured Journey as a direct and necessary result of any cause outside your control.
Travel Delay
- £50 for the first complete 4 hours delay and £50 for each subsequent 4 hours delay thereafter but not exceeding the amount paid in respect of fares or £500 whichever is the lesser if departure of a journey by air, train or boat is delayed due to strike, industriaI action, adverse weather conditions, mechanicaI breakdown etc.
Missed Departure
- Up to £500 in order for you to reach your final destination caused by your late arrival at any departure point shown on their itinerary to start the Insured Journey caused by; the public transport used by you being delayed or, the car you are travelling in being involved in an accident or breaking down.
What is not insured – Main exclusions
Cancellation, Curtailment, Change of itinerary, Travel Dealy, Missed Departure.
- Any loss caused by Covid.
- Travelling against medical advice.
- Redundancy, resignation or cancellation of a contract of employment.
- Strikes or disputes resulting in the failure of transport other than when the delay is longer than 24 hrs unless you were aware of the strike at the time of booking.
- Failure to check in.
- Failure to acquire the correct visa.
Travel Delay
- Failure to check in correctly.
- Failure to accept an alternative means of transport.
- Any circumstance foreseeable at the point of booking.
Missed Departure
- Failure to do everything possible to avoid missing the departure point.
- Any circumstance which could be reasonably foreseen.
Hijack and Kidnap and Ransom-Cover
What is insured?
- In the event of Hijack or Kidnap and you being detained as a result for a period in excess of 24 hours, Insurers will pay ;
- Hijack: £300 per day for each complete period of detention
- Kidnap: £300 per day for each complete period of detention to a maximum of £12,500 in total for any one occurrence and
Hijack and Kidnap and Ransom
What is not insured? – Main exclusions
- Claims in the UK
- Claims relating to any criminal or fraudulent act.
- Whilst on an Insured Journey in excess of 30 days duration;
- for any Kidnap which occurs in any country aII travel to which has been advised against by Our Security Consultants or the British Government.
Personal Liability
What is insured?
Insurers will pay up to £2,000,000 limit of indemnity in respect of legal liability arising out of accidental injury or damage to any other person.
You must not admit liability and you must notify insurers immediately of any circumstance that may give rise to a claim.

What is not insured? – Main exclusions
- any liability in respect of Accidental death or Accidental Bodily Injury sustained by any member of your family or any person who is under a contract of service with you and which arises out of and in the course of their employment by you or liability arising in connection with any business profession or occupation;
- liability for loss of or damage to property belonging to or in the custody or control of you or your family or liability arising out of the ownership possession or use of any land or buildings or
- liability arising from the ownership possession or use of any mechanically propelled vehicle aircraft hovercraft or watercraft (other than hand propelled watercraft) under the your control;
- liability assumed by agreement unless such liability would have attached in the absence of such agreement;
- liability which is the result of any claim resulting from the transmission of any communicable disease or virus;
- liability which is the result of any willful malicious or unlawful act;
(any punitive or exemplary damages)
Legal representation
We will negotiate on your behalf for legal rights to bring Legal Proceedings to pursue a civil claim resulting from an incident, for which you are not at fault which causes your death of or personal injury during an Insured Journey, provided that the insured incident occurs during the Period of Insurance and Prospects of Success exist for the duration of the claim in respect of any appeal or defence of an appeal.
- The maximum amount Insurers will pay for Costs and Expenses is £25,000.
- You must report an insured incident to Us as soon as possible and in any event no later than
- 180 days after the date the Insured Person knew or should have known about the insured incident.
Exclusions Applicable To All Covers
This policy will not cover:
- Any claim where you are not a Spotlight Member who has an active Extra Cover Pack add-on.
- Claims arising from stunt performing.
- Flying other than as a passenger.
- Cover whilst being in the armed forces.
- Any criminal act
- Cover whilst in a state of insanity
- Travel to a place where the British Government advises against all travel.
Main Policy Conditions:
You must;
- a) tell insurers as soon as practicable of any event or occurrence which may result in a claim and in any event no later than 60 days after the occurrence of such event
- b) as soon as practicable and at your own expense provide Insurers with a written claim containing as much information as possible of the loss, destruction, damage, accident or injury, including the amount of the claim
- c) provide insurers at your own expense with aII certificates information and evidence
reasonably required by Us and in the form and of such nature as they may prescribe
- d) immediately pass to insurers unanswered, all communications from third parties in relation to any event which may result in a claim under this policy
e) not admit or repudiate liability, nor offer to settle, compromise, make payment which may result in a claim or pay any claim under this policy without insurers written agreement
and you shall
- a) submit to medical examination at insurers request in respect of any alleged Accidental Bodily Injury where insurers shall pay the fee
- b) as soon as possible after the occurrence of any Accidental Bodily Injury obtain and follow the advice of a Qualified Medical Practitioner
You must take all reasonable precautions to prevent
- loss, destruction or damage to the property insured
- accident or injury to any person or loss or destruction of, or damage to, their property
and must comply with all legal requirements and safety regulations and conduct the Business in a lawful manner.

This cover is provided to qualifying members of Spotlight with specific Insurers being selected and agreed by Spotlight. Hencilla receives a commission from the insurer for arranging this cover. In sourcing and placing your policy, Hencilla acts as the agent of the Insurer.
Financial services compensation scheme.
All policy insurers are members of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if they are unable to meet their obligations.
